Individuals getting diagnosed from diseases too late for treatment
Patients in rural areas not having as much access to healthcare as patients in cities
Current AI diagnostic tools unable to identify rare diseases
After I researched and brainstormed problems in healthcare, I found that most of them are related to diagnosis. Below is a data insight that stuck out to me.
Millions of people are affected by a genetic disease and more than 70% of them remain undiagnosed.

The solution I decided to create
The solution is an AI-powered app that evaluates a patient's ancestry and health data to assess disease inheritance risk and suggests a treatment plan.

App Design
To design the app, I created the user flow and a sitemap to help determine the interfaces needed in the app.
User Flow
When creating the user flow, I aimed to address the needs of different types of users. To achieve this, the flow was designed to be simple, prioritizing accessibility for both new and returning users. It minimizes complexity by limiting interactions and screens while showcasing the value of the AI system through automated predictions and treatment suggestions based on uploaded medical reports.

Sitemap
The sitemap was created after designing the user flow to establish a clear structure for the app’s navigation and content organization. It highlights three main areas of interaction: accessing historical reports, generating new reports, and managing personal profile information.

User Interface Designs of the Main Flow
Using the user flow and sitemap as guidelines, I designed the key user interfaces to ensure a straightforward and user-friendly experience, enabling users to easily navigate the app and obtain prediction results.


User has the option to create an account or sign in


Let's say the user already has an account and selects sign in - they will be directed to a screen to enter their credentials


After logging in, the home page will appear where the user can press the "+" button to generate a disease risk inheritance report




To generate the report, the app needs the user's and their ancestor's medical report/history - they can upload new personal medical reports or choose a previously uploaded report
Once the user is done selecting the required materials, they can click generate to see potential diseases and a suggested treatment plan
To access/make any changes to the user's ancestor medical reports, users can refer to their profile

For this app to result in a positive outcome it must accomplish two goals.
Reduce the user's healthcare costs

This will be measured by conducting user surveys that asks users the amount of times they visited the doctor and the types of services performed.
Manage disease progression
